A few weeks ago, on a golden October weekend, I took part in a 24h Comic Event. At the → Literarisches Colloquium Berlin (LCB) at Wannsee. Everything was prepared here for me to get involved in an experiment that comic creators have been taking on for some time. Based on the idea of → Scott McCloud, the declared goal is to create a 24-page comic in 24 hours. 

For me, this was an exciting experiment: getting out of the current project framework, the daily routine and into free play. Giving up control and trusting the associations. The starting point for this arrangement was on Saturday with a loud gong and the keyword “kindergarten”. The concentration, the nice table neighbours left and right carried me through the 24 hours. And I was able to learn a lot about my own work and conscious and less conscious narrative strategies during this drawing marathon.

Vor ein paar Wochen, an einem goldenen Oktoberwochenende habe ich an einem 24h Comic Event teilgenommen. Im → Literarischen Kolloquium am Wannsee. Hier war alles vorbereitet, um sich auf dein Experiment einzulassen, dem sich Comicschaffende seit einiger Zeit stellen. Basierend auf der Idee von → Scott McCloud ist das erklärte Ziel einen 24-seitigen Comic in 24h zu erstellen. 

Das war für mich ein spannendes Experiment: Raus aus dem aktuellen Projektrahmen, dem Alltag und rein ins freie Spiel. Kontrolle abgeben und den Assoziationen vertrauen. Startpunkt für diese Anordnung war am Samstag mit einem lauten Gong und dem Stichwort „Kindergarten“. Die Konzentration, die netten Tischnachbar*Innen links und rechts haben mich durch die 24h getragen. Und ich konnte in diesem Zeichenmarathon viel über mein eigenes Arbeiten und bewusste und weniger bewusste Erzählstrategien lernen.
